Vice President of Research Logistics
Reports To: Senior Vice President of Operations
Summary:
The Vice President of Research Logistics is a key leadership role within the Operations Team, responsible for overseeing the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the Research Logistics Team. This team plays a critical role in the execution of research studies, from initial project setup and participant recruitment to data quality assurance and final reporting. The ideal candidate will be a strong people leader with a proven track record in operational management, financial oversight, and quality assurance. While technical expertise in research methodologies is not required, a general understanding of the research process and data management principles is highly beneficial.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of research logistics professionals.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and identify opportunities for team members' professional growth.
- Operational Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Research Logistics Team, ensuring efficient and timely execution of tasks.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for key processes, such as project setup, participant recruitment, data cleaning, and quality control.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Collaborate effectively with other departments, including Project Management, Data & Analytics, and the Research Engagement Center (REC), to ensure seamless project execution.
- Financial Management:
- Manage project financials, ensuring adherence to financial goals and targets.
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to budget utilization and resource allocation.
- Identify and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or efficiency.
- Quality Assurance:
- Develop and maintain a robust quality assurance framework for all research logistics processes.
- Oversee the implementation of quality control measures to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to identify and address any quality issues.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices and regulatory requirements related to research data quality.
- Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Contribute to the development and execution of the company's strategic goals and objectives.
- Identify opportunities to leverage technology and innovation to improve research logistics processes.
- Proactively address challenges and opportunities within the research logistics function.
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in operational management, preferably in a research or data-driven environment.
- Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Experience with financial management and budget oversight.
- Knowledge of quality assurance principles and methodologies.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Exceptional leadership and people management skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities, with a demonstrated ability to challenge the status quo and drive positive change.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Google Suite.
- Knowledge of research methodologies and data management principles is a plus.
Additional Information:
- This is a full-time, exempt position.
- Full time remote work - high speed internet is crucial for this position.
- Some travel may be required.
