Colson Steber, Co-CEO of Qlarity Access, joined Lenny Murphy, Chief Advisor for Insights and Development at Greenbook and host of the Greenbook Podcast, to talk about Qlarity Access, our sponsorship of the Greenbook 2024 Future List, and the future of the market research industry.
Our decision to sponsor the Future List was based on our company's core values and purpose of “community creating opportunities.” As Colson says, one of our main goals as a company is to “empower and build others to succeed in their own capacity,” and sponsoring this list is one more way to do just that and put our values first with a wider impact.
As Colson said, we aim to elevate those within our company and help them both set and achieve their goals. We do this in a number of ways, but mainly through transparency and prioritization.
Qlarity Access has financial transparency with all corporate employees - they know the sales and revenue numbers as well as contribution margins and how their work fits in. When everyone is aligned and given key metrics to operate against, all can be responsible for their own outcomes, feel in control of their work, and find their exact value in the company.
We also utilize an operating system called Traction and set rocks, or quarterly goals per person. Each person has an individual rock each quarter in which they work to develop themselves and move to where they want to be - doing what they enjoy and do best. This may include behavior changes not just in their role, but across the company. And everyone works together to make that happen!
Colson’s advice to emerging leaders, both on the Future List and not, is as follows:
